Phase 01
The starting point
起點 · Beginner’s mind
Stand at the edge of the familiar. Awareness is enough. You do not need certainty—only willingness to step onto the path.
禪路 · The Path of the Still Point
Inspired by Still Point Zen’s Year of the Horse Awakening—a complete arc: leave home, enter the deep mountains, meet the peak, and discover that arrival was never elsewhere.
In Zen, the path is not a ladder to a better self. It is a long walk that wears away the idea that you were ever incomplete. The traveler’s palette shifts with the mind: morning mist for confusion, green for exploration, dark cloud for trial, gold for awakening, and warm sunlight for return.
Phase 01
起點 · Beginner’s mind
Stand at the edge of the familiar. Awareness is enough. You do not need certainty—only willingness to step onto the path.
Phase 02
離村 · Departure
Comfort loosens its hold. The known world recedes. Practice begins where the map of habit ends.
Phase 03
環境 · Seeing clearly
Conditions shape the mind—and the mind colors conditions. Mountains, weather, and companions become mirrors.
Phase 04–06
攀登 · Trial
Dark clouds gather. Old identities crack. Fatigue, doubt, and longing appear not as failures but as the path’s honest terrain.
Phase 07–08
洞見 · Clarity
Golden light after the storm. Moments of transparent seeing— not ownership of truth, but intimacy with what is.
Phase 09
粉碎小我 · Awakening
“Enlightenment is a destructive process.” Illusions of the separate self fall away—not to make you better, but freer.
The final movement of the path is not escape into perpetual peak experience. It is walking back into ordinary life with empty hands and open eyes. The temple was always nested in the mountain; the mountain was always nested in the heart.
“True arrival is not at the end of the path, but in the awareness that you have never truly left home.”
On Still Q, we hold this arc gently: sit daily, study the landscape of mind, and let nature remind you that nothing real can be lost when you stop grasping.
